Intensified struggle against Dutch Elm Disease in Oslo

Dutch Elm Disease has been present as a smoldering fire in Norway, and since the 1970s the disease has killed many majestic trees in this country, says Harald Smit of Innlandet Trepleie.

Since elm is a tree species that thrives in urban environments, it is all about protecting as many elm trees as possible in our cities, but also in the rest of the country, for this wild-growing tree species is found scattered all the way north to Nordland. With increased spread of infection the species will be threatened.
